Designed around the book’s core theme of moral responsibility — what refuses to disappear in the dark — the cover was created for Penguin’s annual book cover design contest.
The concept explores the idea of moral persistence within chaos, using light as a metaphor for choosing to do the right thing, even when no one notices. The aim was to design a cover that reveals itself over time, only becoming fully clear once the reader reaches the back, ending in a moment of realisation that mirrors the story itself.
